The hotel is big with a big entrance and few restaurants. The restaurant we went to it was OK, the service was very good. The hotel room was on the small side. The two person bed could be accessed by one side. The bathroom had everything, but it was on the small side. If you need just a place to sleep, than it is a safe choice. The breakfast room, had a nice view.

The Best Western is located well in the city. Nice view on the mountains. Hotel is quite out of date (1990s style) but still quite well maintained. Rooms are a bit small and our bathroom would need a refurbish. Breakfast was good. Friendly staff. Overall: don’t expect a perfect hotel but if you pay below 100,- €/night incl breakfast it is a good deal.

This hotel is located in the mountains and the nearby town is billed as the highest town in Germany. The altitude made for pleasant days away from the heat. Our check in was very quick and easy. The room was adequate for our needs and was equipped with king bed, stocked mini-fridge, flat screen television with international channels, and large safe. The room does not have an air conditioner for cooling but the hotel will provide at no cost fans if needed. Our rate included meals and there were always ample choices to choose from. Meals could be enjoyed in the dining area or on the terrace overlooking the lake. The nearby town is only a 10 minute walk and has several restaurants and shops. Summer activities around the hotel included trails for walking, chairlift, and bike rental. The hotel also provides free parking.

This wa an excellent base for out railway based holiday in February 2013. We had 4 days, half board, in this hotel with railtrips on the steam railways in the area.||||Excellent room and good service once we had read the instructions properly. We had wifi access and a tea tray in the room, the room was ver clean and lovely and warm. we could easily control the temperature.||||breakfasts were very good except there was no porridge optio (an it was cold weather, -6 degrees C.||||Evening meals were a little variable but when we opted for the buffet it was excellent.||||A good base for a holiday in the cold weather. Excellt ski facilities forthose who braved the slopes. brilliant snow clearing by the local authority so we did not miss any of our booked trips.

No problem with this hotel. Stayed with a group of friends who were essentially there for steam railway tours. Service in smaller of two restaurants was slow, unprofessional and very slow! One evening no order taken until everyone arrived- the next orders taken but food did not arrive for ages. My meal was forgotten on 3rd evening - no real explanation or apology! Bar was small but Weizenbier was very acceptable! Hotel was very busy and obviously popular with skiers.

Very clean mordern hotel at the foot of the skiing hils, perfect for hiking and long walks in the hills. Friendly staff and very clean, rustic German alpine hotel. Restuarant serves good local cuisine and a hearty breakfast served in a sun splashed room.

The hotel has got 172 rooms and yes it has been bulit in the GDR-look but that does not matter as inside everything is fine! Check in and Check-out was absolutely no problem, the people behind the desk were very freindly and gave us tips where to go during our stay at Oberwiesenthal. Our romm has been located on the 6th floor with 2 TV-flat-screens and a balcony and everything else was fine too. AS a guest you are also allowed to use the indoor swimming pool at the sister hotel. The hotel itself has a nice and large wellness area which you can use. The hotel also has a lounge for smokers. So if you wanna have some relaxing days you can chosse this hotel and enjoy its service and the beautiful landscape around it.

Stayed here recently. You go to Oberwiesenthal in the winter for the skiing, and the hotel is ideally located for this, just a very short walk from the hill. The hotel itself is good - well kept. My room was pretty small, but did have all you wanted. The food at the hotel was buffets. I found the hotel bar small, surprising for a ski oriented resort.
